Warranty Information

Your new green home has a 10-year limited warranty. You will contact our office for your warranty needs during the first and second year, however, you will contact Residential Warranty Corporation (RWC) directly from the third year on for any issues covered under your warranty.

Please — this is important! — read the warranty booklet given to you at closing. It will answer a lot of questions you might have. You will find information in it about:

  • What is covered and for how long?
  • What is considered an actual defect?
  • What is considered normal wear and/or settling of your home?

For the first year of ownership:

We will take care of any defects that might surface for all materials, workmanship and machinery.

For appliance problems, each manufacturer has its own warranty. You received a booklet from each manufacturer at closing. For General Electric products, please contact GE directly with model and serial numbers for service-related issues.

For the second year of ownership:

The developer is responsible for some items, such as structural, plumbing, heating and air conditioning, but during year two, the warranty covers materials only for HVAC and hot water heater defects. You will be responsible for the labor required in any equipment repairs.

At the beginning of the third year of ownership:

Contact Residential Warranty Corporation (RWC) directly to address coverage for any defects. You can either call or send a registered letter to the following address. A return receipt request is recommended to ensure receipt:

To report a problem or get in touch with the MonGroup Warranty and Customer Service Department, you can do one of the following:

  1. Log on to http://www.mongroupnj.com and click on the “For Our Owners”  tab, then click the “Service Request” tab

Please note that each of these four choices involves putting your request in writing. If you call in your request for service, a written notification is still required for our records.
